H. E. Most. Rev. Dr. Antony Mar Silvanos

Bishop of the Major Archiepiscopal Curia

His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Antony Mar Silvanos was born from K. Varghese and Saramma Varghese in 1961. After completing high school study, he joined the Infant Jesus Minor Seminary at Tiruvalla. After completing Philosophy and Theology from Apostolic Seminary at Kottayam, he was ordained priest on 30 December 1988. Then he earned a Master's Degree and Doctorate in Theology from Pontifical Salesian University, Rome. At present, he is the Executive Director of Catholicate Cente, the Headquarter of the Church, who has served as the Vicar General, chancellor and Catechism Director of the Archieparchy of Tiruvalla, Director of the commission for preparing the catechetical texts in the Church, Professor of the St. Mary’s Malankara Seminary and the Vicar of the various parishes. He was appointed as the Bishop of the Major Archiepiscopal Curia on 5 May 2022 and was ordained Bishop on 15 July 2022 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Pattom, Trivandrum.
